Core Purpose
Michigan Specialty Coatings, Inc. d/b/a MSC Floors was founded in 2005 and is continued to be led by Jonathan Winters and Kevin Fitchett. Humble beginnings lead to rapid-growth as they amassed their crews and mastered each type of coating application. It was during this time the company adopted it's core purpose: To Improve the appearance, safety, and sanitation of facilities while limiting the impact. Throughout the past 20 years, MSC floors maintained this ethos. Through constant evolution, learning from inefficiencies and maintaining best practices in the field, they were able to become one of the largest floor coating installation contractors in the state. Using preparation and installation processes which exceed industry standards, they ensure they are providing their clients with the very best solution for the environment.
Masters of the Midwest
MSC Floors is based just north of Detroit in St. Clair, Michigan and a second location in Galesburg, Michigan. Core operations are focused in the Midwest where they have a strong presence throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. While MSC Floors are positioned in the Midwest, they have the capacity to operate nationwide. As they continue to grow and service the southern states, their presence nationwide will as well.
A Team of Coating Industry Experts
The company continues to thrive because MSC Floors are dedicated to providing their clients with individually engineered solutions. The MSC team of expert project managers are trained to look at every possible variable to make sure the floor system will provide the chemical, abrasion, and impact resistance necessary for the environment. MSC's six-step planning-and-executing process has proved to be a essential tool in guiding customers, from prep to step. MSC's leaders, project managers, and employed installers understand preparation is vital to the success of a floor system. In the MSC offices, they often refer to themselves as a 'prep' company who provide great installations. It serves to remind them that without a solid foundation, any system could fail.
Easy to do business with
To achieving an ultra-impressive EMR rating to having the ability to provide proper bonding to maintaining the proper documentation, MSC Floors make it easy to do business with. From the smallest jobs to the largest ones, they have an internal team which take care of all the necessary paperwork. In addition to that, safety training is taken very seriously, having every crew member regularly trained in OSHA-10 (a comprehensive 10 and 30-hour safety program). The company also boasts an internal continuous education platform called MSC University, which educates the floor technicians on the how and they why of each system. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of safety under their belt is the fact that EVERY employee in the organization is trained in CPR and first-aid. They also have certified electricians on staff, in-house diesel mechanics and DOT compliance officers.
